This week has been crazy busy, I must say. The competitions were fierce and the judges were very strict and I have a feeling they don’t like homeschoolers. We rocked our songs and thought we had a chance in competing for first to later find out the judges picked a group who didn’t know their songs and had them win. Everything happens for a reason, right? I’m pretty disappointed at the outcome but did my best to glorify my God. That’s all that really matters.
The same day I submitted a photo for the photography competition. Needless to say, the person in charge of it was a little agitated at something and had it all fall on me. She said I could’ve been disqualified since I used a frame [big deal, right?! not] and was pretty upset for a while. She told me to come back in 20 minutes to figure out how to torture me next [she didn’t really say this, but that’s what I thought she would do!] Everything happens for a reason, right? I prayed for patience on my behalf with this adult and 20 minutes later, returned to find the same person apologizing for being hard on me. A secret gift from God. An early birthday present.
My birthday was the next day. I’m so excited, I’m a cool age now! LOL. My brothers made a rap for my birthday. I video taped it. Everything happens for a reason, right? Yes, it does. That’s why I video taped it to put online and for their wedding videos in later years to come…
This week, my favorite phrase is “Everything happens for a reason, right?” Because God has been teaching and showing me ways that things happen for a reason so I can trust Him completely. It’s a great start to a new year of a new age. And today is the first day of spring, which means there are new beginnings to creation and life. Have a happy Free Rita’s Water Ice Day, everybody, and remember that everything happens for a reason… am I right?
