While walking in school today, I was thinking about how blessed we are as a nation. With all the talk about the recent and annnoying law that has just passed, we have taken away from the focus of what our foundation should be.
God is our foundation. For our country. For our nation. For each individual. God knows what lies ahead and what will happen in the future. For some reason, He’s let the President make a lot of important decisions but He has it all in control. Romans 13 says to pray for your leaders, so that’s what I’ll do. Pray for the nation and it’s future. Pray because God’s in control.
Ironically enough, today I was talking to a really good friend who is leaving for the military shortly. I’ve known him for a LONG time, pretty much my WHOLE life, and he’s like a brother to me. I’m heartbroken that he’s leaving, but I cling to the truth that God knows what He’s doing. Which leads me to the same assumption as before.
God is our foundation. For our country. For our nation. For the military. For each individual. God knows what lies ahead and what will happen in the future. For some reason, He planned that my friend will go serve and defend our nation. I may not agree 100% with it, but God knows best. He has it all in control. Pray for the nation. Pray for it’s future. Pray for the military because God’s in control.
Even more ironically, I remember a few summers ago, my cousin told me he was going in the Navy. I knew I was not going to see him for a while, but I also knew God had a plan. My cousin has been in the Navy for a few years now and today, surprised me by showing up at church. He’s HOME. Boy, was I happy to see my cousin!
You see, because once you know that God is supposed to be our foundation, every thing snaps into place. We may be worried or be scared, but when we pray, it’s powerful. We may not always get the answer we think is best, but God knows what lies ahead and what will happen in the future. He knew that my cousin was going to come home safely. He knew that my friend would leave for the military. He knew that the President would make frustrating decisions. But over all, God does know what He’s doing.
And I, for one, say “God Bless the USA.”
